Join us for the inaugural book club of the 2024-2025 academic year featuring "The Wizard of Oz"!
We will kick off with a special event including a mini unit study and STEM lab focused on tornadoes. Explore details about the author, the historical context of the book, and fascinating facts about the MGM film production.
Each participant will receive a book study curriculum kit containing all necessary supplies and extra resources for the reading journey.
If you are unable to attend the live session, you can still sign up for the book club and arrange to receive your curriculum pack for independent study.
For Behold, "The Wizard of Oz," we have chosen to use the Usborne unabridged illustrated copy of the book. It will not be included in your student curriculum kit. The highlight of this book club will be an Educational Day at Beech Mountain, North Carolina, at "Land of Oz" theme park for a theatrical performance. Florida Explorers has secured a limited number of tickets for this popular event, which sells out annually. The Land of Oz team has customized this experience exclusively for our group. Please note that registering for the Book Club Class does not include admission to the Land of Oz event. Separate registration is required. You do not need to be part of the Book Club to attend the Land of Oz field experience, but Book Club members will have priority for reserving spots due to limited availability.

Florida Explorers Book Clubs What to Expect:
- Each Book Club Starts With An Exciting Mini Unit Study.
- Each Participant Will Receive an STEM aligned kit with items related to the book and curriculum to be used during our first meeting.
- At the end of each book, we will celebrate with a unique customized field experience just for our group.
- Your Initial Book Club Fee will only include your Book Club STEM Kit and does not include the related field experience; you will need to register for the field event separately.
